The Israel – Palestine Conflict

On October 14th, 2023, an engaging activity was organized to update and inform students about global current affairs, focusing on the Israel-Palestine conflict. The recent aggressive actions by Hamas, the militant group in control of the Gaza Strip, included a comprehensive assault on Israel from land, air, and water, resulting in numerous casualties. This has reignited the long-standing century-old dispute between Israel and Palestine, prompting the involvement of both global and regional powers.

In response to these events, a quiz was conducted to gauge the students’ understanding of the Israel-Palestine conflict. The participants demonstrated enthusiasm and active engagement in the discussion, reflecting the importance of staying informed about complex geopolitical issues.

The situation underscores the need for diplomacy and international cooperation to address the ongoing tensions in the region. As Malala Yousafzai wisely said, “If you want to end war, then instead of sending guns, send books. Instead of sending tanks, send pens. Instead of sending soldiers, send teachers.” These words highlight the significance of education and dialogue in promoting peace and understanding, even in the midst of longstanding conflicts.
