News update 24th March 2018

The world observed Earth Hour on Saturday (March 24th) from 8.30pm to 9.30pm. And so did we at CBS. To mark the occasion, on the school campus, all the lights were switched off from 8.30pm to 9.00pm. This day is to remind us that if we want to save the dying Earth for the future generation, we will have to save energy and change our wastage – oriented lifestyle.

Examinations are the true test of knowledge! Some agree while others disagree. Whatever the case may be, the fact cannot be denied that Examinations are, ‘a necessary evil’.

As the Board Examinations culminate, the boys of Std X and Std XII depart on their ways- to experiment, to explore and to pass new ‘tests’. Here it becomes necessary to quote Tom Bodett (American Author).

“In School, you‘re taught a lesson and given a test. In life you’re given a test that teaches you a lesson.”

Parting is always difficult. At CBS, nowadays, one can see boys embracing and wishing ‘Luck’ to each other; taking the blessings of the teachers and some going around with sad faces, trying to hold back their tears. Photographs and autographs are floating in the air. As said before parting is difficult but then, “Only in the agony of parting do we look into the depths of love”

Back at home front, Promotional Examinations are midway and shall get over on 2nd April, after which the boys would be going for Mid Term Break (5th April – 10th April). But before that, the results of the Final Examinations will be declared and the deserving candidates would be awarded the Annual Academy Achiever’s Awards 2018 on 4th April.

The Promotional Examinations are round the corner; commencing from 21st March. The boys are settling down to more serious studies.

On 16th March, CBS Team played a cricket match against South Doon Cricket Academy on the home ground. CBS lost the match.

On 17th March 2018 CBS celebrated its 92nd Founders Day. To commemorate the occasion, Inter House PT Competition was held (at 4: 30pm). All the three Houses had practiced hard to secure the first position but St. Patrick favoured Headmaster House. It is becoming difficult to defeat Headmaster House! (It seems)

Speaking of St. Patrick, he is the Patron Saint of Ireland and hence the Founder Principal, being an Irishman, chose this date to establish the school. The National leaf of Ireland is the Shamrock and the colour is green, hence our blazer is green. On this day many World famous buildings are lit in green e.g.

Rio’s Christ the Redeemer, The Colosseum, The White House Fountain, The Chicago River and The Empire State Building.

Result of the Inter House Cricket Competition (2017) was announced.

On 18th March the boys of Headmaster House went for a movie to celebrate their victory in the Inter House Hindi Elocution Competition (2017).

5th March, 2018

It is rightly said that there is no better exercise than swimming and now the boys at CBS can enjoy this sport as well. After a period of twelve years the swimming pool at CBS is finally ready. The construction of the pool began in February 2017 and on the 5th of March, 2018 it was made available to the boys of Std XII as they would be leaving the school shortly (on completion of the ISC Examinations). The pool is 25m by 15m and the depth extends feet 4 feet to 5 feet. The boys were in the pool from 2:30pm to 3:45pm.
