Col. Brown Cambridge School inaugurates synthetic tennis courts with state of the Art facilities

Col. Brown School added another feather to its cap by inaugurating synthetic tennis courts in the campus. The facility has been introduced to implement the age old belief of Col. Brown’s to instill in their students sports sportsmanship and leadership qualities for which Brownian’s have always been known.

The school had the pleasure of having Mr. Nitin Kirtane who has a laudatory resume that boasts of reaching the junior Wimbledon boys double final with Mahesh Bhupati in 1992 to winning the team Bronze at the Bangkok Asian games, representing India in the Davis cup to becoming a national champion for the first time and Mr. Vijay Kanani the junior national champion in 1997 and 1998 and Men’s national champion in the year 2001 and going on to represent India in Davis cup along with Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupati from 2001 to 2006.

Mr. Nitin Kirtane and Mr. Vijay Kanan played a couple of matches with the Brownian’s to impress upon them that a sport like Tennis plays various roles in strengthening the nation by building the character and health of its youth. It was evident that the students were greatly inspired. We hope the school Tennis team will avail of this modern facility and utilize it to train themselves for competitive matches.
