It was a fine moonlit evening on 29th October when students of Class 10 had organized a Good Luck Party to exchange greetings and bid best wishes to one another for their forthcoming board examinations. Like skilled event managers, students had prepared games like musical chairs and dance to freeze besides an extended dance session. Teachers were presented a token of love and reverence for their selfless service to the students. It was quite an enjoyable evening for students and teachers alike.
Ex- Brownian Awdesh Gairola, presently a student at UPES, conducted a career counselling session on 29th October. He enlightened the students about the basics of crude oil extraction and on-shore and off-shore drilling. He also emphasized on pursuing Petroleum Engineering as a career option. The students thoroughly benefitted from this session.
Dehradun District Sports Association organized the District Athletic Competition on 27th and 28th October at RIMC. CBS boys participated in various events like March Past, Races, Shot-Put, Discus Throw, High-Jump, Broad Jump and Triple Jump. BrownianYash Chaudhary secured a bronze in Shot-Put. A thumping victory by Brownians in March Past for the sixth consecutive year added a feather to the cap.
The Inter- House Athletic Meet commenced on 23rd October to inculcate team building and enable students hone their motor skills. The meet interspersed with a multitude of track and field events saw the participation of students in March Past, Races, Shot-Put, Discus Throw, High-Jump, Broad Jump and Triple Jump. All the students proved their mettle and brought laurels to their respective houses. It ended with semi-finals on 30th October and carried forward to be conducted in November as a part of Founder’s Day Celebration. So far Bursar House has taken the lead over other houses.
Oasis School, Dehradun orgnaised the Reliance Football Tournament. 18 boys from CBS played against Gautam International School on 20th October and won by 3-2.
An Inter-House Letter Writing Competition was held on August 20th. Students from all the classes participated and wrote expressing themselves on the given topics. All the students did well and the winners were acknowledged with respective positions.
Early morning of 10th October students got going with the cleaning campaign in the school campus. With teachers on duty and students divided into groups in different zones, the campaign was initiated. With a true civic sense and a feeling of belongingness all the students took pride in accomplishing the task religiously.
Summer Valley School organized an Inter- School G.K. Quiz ‘Quintessence’ on October 6, 2018. Eight renowned schools of the town participated. Garvit Jain, Samriddh Garg and Dhruv Pratap Singh represented Col. Brown School. Shemford School bagged the overall winner trophy whereas Summer Valley and RIMC were proclaimed the first and the second runners-up.
Colonel Brown Cambridge School team participated in the District Gymnastic Competition organized by District Gymnastic Association, Dehradun held at Welham Boys’ School. The Under 14 and Under 17 teams of our school secured the Runner-up position in team event. The individual positions are:

- Dhruv Pratap Third Position in Floor Exercise

Perhaps, it is a proud moment for the school as the Under 17 Boys have qualified for the State Games as well.
The month of September saw another event on calendar, the Inter- House Football Tournament. It was a three days’ event played by the houses split into three groups A, B and C.
Bursar House scored 7 points, Principal House scored 8 points and Headmaster House took the lead by 10 points and bagged the trophy.
