Leaf composting and cleaning done at Col. Brown Cambridge School on 2nd October 2017

We at Col. Brown Cambridge School had started leaf composting since March 2017 by aerobic as well as anaerobic method. We were ready to take out the ready compost. Fortunately this time it coincided with the SWACH BHARAT ABHIYAN of Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi, so it definitely added value for children.

We do not burn any leaves which are collected from our campus and composted it by us by a natural process using organic culture. It does not create any stench as food waste is not used. It is only green organic waste.
NDTV also decided to cover this particular aspect of our work, where after six months wait our compost was ready and the children wanted to showcase their work.

The children showed NDTV crew how they processed the whole green waste and also the final product was sieved and collected to use it further to rejuvenate the flower beds and gardens of the school.

The children also went live with Shri Amitabh Bacchan through NDTV OB van which was stationed in the school for this.
The School has from time to time worked with The Waste Warriors to clean up the areas and has also cleaned area at Silver Height and the trail from Rajpur to Jharipani has also been cleaned by them.
