The glorious 90th Anniversary celebrations of Col. Brown Cambridge School

Col. Brown School hosted its 90th Founders day celebration on 30th of November 2016 with great pomp and splendor. The school was privileged by the presence of His Excellency the Honorable Governor of Uttarakhand Dr.K.K.Paul. The governor in spite of his busy schedule had graced the occasion as Chief Guest . The programme was ushered in with the rendition of the National Anthem.

The children took part in many entertaining and enjoyable events. The March past won the 1st prize in the Dehradun District sports meet. It was wonderful to see the children march with such precision and absolute synchronization to the tune of Sare Jahan Se Accha Hindostan Hamara., besides being spectacular there was something inspiring about the March Past.  There was a sense of dignity and pride the Brownians brought to it. Physical training on the lush green fields of Col Brown School showed coordination and fantastic alertness. The boys felt PT was rejuvenating.

Yoga, aerobics and gymnastics done regularly in school as it helped to give the boys an energetic life. It made them live life to its fullest. To live a healthier, happier life the children danced the Zumba.

Col .Brown western band left everybody mesmerized. For the Brownians music is an incredible unifying force. Playing and singing together creates an emotional bond that lasts forever.

There were very powerful and alluring dance performances which required full body integration and hold your captive by their creativity.

The Hindi play by Munshi Prem Chand was full of laughter and humor. The English Play by juniors “Alladin and the magic lamp” held everybody spell bound. The acting, costumes, dialogue and music was absolutely out of the world. The genie and the flying carpet was very fascinating and was fancied by one and all.

The Memorial Hall had the most wonderful paintings, craft-work and Projects made by the children.

The distinguished guests and parents saluted the institution by giving a standing ovation on its 90th Anniversary.

One could see the school had taught the children to be independent , self reliant , resilient and fearless. It has provided a strong foundation and the children have learnt to believe in themselves. The three things emphasized by the school are think deep, go global and reach high.

The students thanked their teachers and parents for their fantastic effort in nurturing them and teaching them to do things that were tough because if they did not leap they would never know what it was like to fly.
