On 22nd Of August, Inter House Hindi Elocution was conducted. There were three categories i.e. seniors, juniors and Sub juniors. Boys gave individual and choral group performances. Best elocutionist award in Group I went to Jai Sharma from Bursar House. In Group II, Aditya Saini from Bursar House was adjudged the best and in Group III Debajit Saha from Principal House was declared 1st. Best elocutionist award was begged by Aditya Saini. The overall trophy was won by Bursar House.
On 24th of August our school participated in the Inter School Geeta Path competition organized by Kasiga School. We begged 5th position out of 30 schools.
Chicken and Vegetable Biryani on Thursdays and South Indian breakfast on Wednesday is a welcome change.
Massive plantation drive is on in the school campus.
1. On 11th of August 2016 a workshop on Design thinking was conducted at our school. The resource persons were Mrs. Deepti Sawhny and Mrs. Premnida Langer of LEARN TODAY. It was a six hour workshop showcasing the difference between Empathy and sympathy. How to get into someone’s shoe to think and perform. The workshop was enlightening for the boys and the staff.
2. On 12th of August trees were planted around the school campus by class XI and XII to promote greenery. It is also a week celebrated by the state as HARELA FESTIVAL. Each boy planted one sapling and was given the responsibility of looking after it.
3. On 15th of August 2016, India celebrated its 70th Independence Day. We also celebrated it with lot of enthusiasm. The programme commenced with the Headmaster hoisting the National Flag followed by National Anthem and a patriotic song by the school choir. Later outdoor games were conducted on B field for the boys and the staff. It was a good fun to watch.
The senior school football team has been selected and they are practicing hard for the upcoming tournament starting this Sunday. Done Singh of class XII has been appointed as the football Captain for the year 2016-2017
Our sub junior team participated in the 31st Carbery Tournament organized by Carman School. Unfortunately our school could not qualify for the semi final despite working hard.
A studious environment could be seen in the school as the monthly teats have commenced for all classes (except XI) due to which the Saturdays movies have yet not been started.
Students are happy about the new calling system that has been introduced in each house as their call duration for the month has also increased.
Yet another change has been added in the school assembly, as from now the “Birthday Boys” will be called upon the stage and the school choir will wish them by singing the “ Happy Birthday” song. Kapil Saini happens to be the first boy to be wished in such a fashion.
